Prospectiva Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: PSVA) began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange on August 14, 2026, after completing its qualifying transaction with Pentagon I Capital Corp.

The deal closed under a definitive agreement dated July 7, 2026, whereby a Pentagon subsidiary amalgamated with Prospectiva Canada Finco Inc. and Pentagon acquired all of Prospectiva UK's ordinary shares. The transaction was first announced February 5, 2026. In connection with the closing, Prospectiva UK and Pentagon completed a private placement of 4,545,041 subscription receipts at C$0.81 per receipt, raising gross proceeds of C$3,681,483 — the capital earmarked to fund the maiden drill program now underway.

Shares advanced 5.26% on August 18, 2026, per Kalkine.

"Listing on the TSX Venture Exchange is a significant milestone for Prospectiva and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Company," said Chief Executive Officer Dan James in the company's August 14 GlobeNewswire release.

The central investment thesis rests on what happens next in Brazil. As of August 28, 2026, Prospectiva's maiden diamond drilling programme at its 100%-owned São Francisco Copper-Gold Project was underway — 2,500 metres across 10 holes, with the first hole already complete and drilling advanced into hole two, per the company's August 28 GlobeNewswire release. The programme is expected to conclude by November.

São Francisco sits in the Borborema Belt, spanning the states of Pernambuco and Paraíba in northeastern Brazil. Prospectiva holds 35 mineral exploration licences covering approximately 335 km² across that land package. The project was originally a grassroots discovery by Yamana Gold Inc. in 2019 and was acquired by Prospectiva in early 2026.

Prior to this maiden programme, approximately 5,900 metres of diamond drilling and a 29 line-km Induced Polarization survey had been completed at the site, per the August 28 GlobeNewswire release. That historical work tested roughly 2 km of the prospective trend, intersecting high-grade, copper-dominant mineralisation at multiple locations. Prospectiva's own FLEM survey, combined with that historical IP geophysics and updated geological interpretation, has defined what the company describes as a broader geological and geophysical corridor extending approximately 3 km.

On August 28, James stated: "We believe São Francisco has the potential to be significantly larger than the mineralised footprint defined historically."

The current programme is fully funded from the C$3,681,483 placement proceeds, per the August 14 GlobeNewswire release.

The macro backdrop for the week ending August 29 was mixed for small-cap resource names. Gold futures climbed to a three-month high on August 29, with December gold hitting $4,569.40 per ounce — its highest level since May 15, per CNBC — a constructive signal for copper-gold explorers. Meanwhile, a more hawkish tone from Fed Chair Warsh strengthened rate-hike expectations, and the S&P 500 shed 0.25% on August 28 per TradingEconomics, with broader risk appetite under pressure heading into the Labour Day long weekend.

Holes two through ten at São Francisco remain to be reported, with the programme expected to conclude by November per the company's August 28 GlobeNewswire release.
